5th Grade - Outdoor Ed

All 5th-grade students are invited to attend a 4-day Outdoor Educational Camp from April 28, 2026- May 1, 2026 at Exploring New Horizons Outdoor School at Sempervirens.

This is an amazing opportunity for students to focus on adventure, self-discovery, and environmental stewardship. Students explore the coastal ecosystems, the Oak, Madrone, and Redwood Forest, and each evening activity finishes with songs and stories around the campfire.

The curriculum, aligned with NGSS and Common Core standards, focuses on three strands taught through a variety of activities and lessons:

  • Nature Appreciation and Understanding
  • Cooperation and Teamwork
  • Citizenship and Empowerment

Due to increased costs, the suggested donation for each student to participate is $675.  This includes the cost of the camp (food, lodging, cabin leaders, teacher fees) and transportation to/from camp.  Outdoor School is a wonderful experience that we would like to continue to offer to our 5th graders at Montair and are thankful in advance to families for donating to this very worthy experience!

All donations due by March 27, 2026
